Another day in dullsville...

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Ok so very uneventful day. The usual up at 5 am, first batch of kids on the bus at 7 then the next run. She was gone at 8 am by then The youngest was up... AFTER he said " My dipoo cwooked" uhhhh.. that is never good news especially in bed, MY BED! He sleeps on about 4 layers of blankets and I had changed him at 5 when I woke up. By 7 am he had drenched through his diaper and about 3 layers of blankets. UGHHH. We are working on potty training now but not rushing it. He is 2 1/2. So at 7 :30 I was stripping my bed and washing blankets.

Had to run to town which is a 25 minute drive so he and I got going. After hitting the local thrift store ( he LOVES the thrift) then onto the big box store for dog food, milk, the usual. We were on our way back hom.

Stopped and picked up my 17 year old as she hates riding the bus. Funny thing is they jsut changed buses and it made it home before we did? But the new bus gives them 25 extra minutes in the morn and 30 in the afternoon so they are gaining almost an hour . YIPPEE i can give them more chores.

LOL.

Made an uneventful dinner. A chili mac as I was in a hurry and butternut squash that I had to BUY>>>> Our garden grew some wonderful hubbards but the butternut just were not doing well.

I cannot believe I had to pay 4 dollars for a squash. didnt realize till I had it already in the oven.

I ahve about a bushel of tomatoes that narrowly missed the frost . I ahve been leaving as many on the vine as possible in hope that they will ripen a little more. It was 36 when I woke this morning so the days are numbered for the others. The collards and other greens have had a sudden surge of some nasty little wormy things so , I am done with those. Yuk. We dont treat anything so we feed lots of bugs.

Our new Puppy ( which by the way is larger than my 7 year old shih tzu) is a terror and has decided my lawn, finally established last summer, Was the perfect place to practice her diggin skills. So I was washing patios and filling a few holes . This is a big dog mind you. We havent had a large dog for years and then they were working dogs and they didnt fool around much. She is a Bernese mountain dog and at 8 weeks is 25 lbs Holy toledo.... Her picture above was at 5 weeks!
I found some great Southern living yearbooks at the thrift today and cannot wait to try some out. I hope this week slows down so I can get into some recipes I have wanted to try.
Getting my Big Old kidmobile detailed tomorrow so maybe I will take that time to whip something up.
Sweet dreams!

The Curse of the clock...

Monday, October 6, 2008

First I have to comment on this kid and his smile.... Omg what a gomer. He really is having a smile crisis and cannot figure out how he wants to smile. It is usually eyes closed but..this one here is a new and strange one ...hmmm I need to ponder this one for a bit HAHA after I laugh a little.
Here it is again. the curse of the clock....That time when I know I should be sleeping as I MUST wake in 4 hours for the day and my body os not cooperating with me...
Why do they put all these shows on so late that I have to stay up and watch, It is now nearly 1 a.m. everyone in the house is asleep. 1 kid plopped in her favorite chair and curled up, the baby is in here with me in my bed and he keeps digging his toes into my knee .The 2 oldest FINALLY after all these years have decided they love their rooms and their beds. I couldnt get them to stay a minute in their beds when they were little now that is literally the only place they will sleep.
I even tried to have movie night here in my room on the big king sized bed. Popcorn, movies, card games, snacks and yummies. I thought we would all drift off to sleep like we used to when they all wanted to sleep with me. Nope, there was so much chaos, tthe touching, cant see over her foot, and teh GODFORSAKEN cell phones, test messaging the entire time. I think I seen 15 minutes and threw in the towel. They are all gone to their little caverooms and I am here wondering why I am still up. I had to see the end of project runway DUH! Then it will be off to my other sleep inducers..
In on the counter are caramel apples made the old fashioned way, a pan of caramel sticky buns and I feel NO urge to eat them. UUGGH. I so need to start working out.

My lardo butt needs to get some weight off. .. Thinkin I might go to the rec center and try that, if nothing else I can swim a lap or 2. Thats what I will do tomorrow if I can get the kids all figured out.

Dont you see clock ,, I have more to say and think. That clock keeps pusshing me on, nagging me at my shoulder. "DO YOU SEE THE TIME?" I see the time and I ahve more to think because clock , dont you understand that the only time my brain thinks above a 2 year old language ability is after they ALL go to sleep. So, tomorrow. off to the gym? we'll see... tonight I will close it down. The clock wins! Again......
I need to ponder Skykids new facial expressions and blubs he throws out. He is 2 and I asked him today if he liked his Aunt (name removed to preserve the guilty) ? His reply ? "No, I hate her." AGGHHH "What did you say?" "Where did you hear that word?" "Who said that to you?" He not worried or concerned at all is wondering off down the hallway...Sigh... Now yet another word that has to be worked on. Gotta call everyone and tell them to add HATE to their list of no no words. I am too old for this yes I am....
